Agency Certification

Becoming a Certified Partner Agency is a required step for any organization applying for funding from United Way of West Florida. Certification does not guarantee funding, but it can still benefit nonprofits in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

Getting certified confirms your organization has been thoroughly vetted and meets United Way of West Florida's standards for transparency, financial health, and governance. Becoming a Certified Partner Agency also allows you to join a resourceful network of organizations within our community and access unique partner benefits, which are outlined below.

UWWF's Agency Certification period is October 4 to October 21, 2022

Apply for Certification

Becoming a Certified Partner of United Way of West Florida has a number of benefits. It does not, however, guarantee that a program will receive Community Investment grant funding. As a Certified Partner, your agency is eligible to receive the following benefits and more.

  • Promote job listings and agency events through United Way of West Florida channels
  • Join the United Way Agency Director's Association (UWADA) and take advantage of additional benefits and resources
  • Receive discounted registration for Pensacola State College Nonprofit Center events and workshops
  • Show funders and donors your organization meets United Way's standards for transparency, financial health, and governance

Agency Certification is an annual process that opens in the fall of each year and allows nonprofit organizations in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties to join a passionate network committed to improving our community.

Agencies must re-apply for Certification each year.

All organizations must re-apply each year regardless of past certification status. Certification is not guaranteed.

Agencies approved for certification will be notified in December.

Becoming a Certified Partner Agency does not require your organization to submit a Community Investment grant application.

If your organization does submit a Community Investment grant application, funding is not guaranteed.

Certified partners are eligible to apply for funding from UWWF in January.

If you'd like more information about Agency Certification, or if you have any trouble using the E-Cimpact platform to submit your application, please email Mary Zaledonis. Once submitted, our Finance Committee will review the applications and all certified partners will be notified of their status.
