Thank you for your interest in the United Way of West Florida (UWWF) Community Investment grant.
This year UWWF has shifted from the Certification Application to a Letter of Intent Process (LOI). There will no longer be a “certified partner” classification, but all applications will continue to be reviewed for fiscal accountability along with a Letter of Intent to be considered for funding.
Application Dates:
- Wednesday, November 1, 2023 – Application opens
- Monday, December 4, 2023 – Application closes 5:00 PM CST
Applicants selected to move into the second phase, Grant Application, will be notified in January 2024.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements.
UWWF has identified the following criteria for an agency seeking Community Investment funding. The agency:
- Is incorporated and registered as a non-profit in the state of Florida and is certified as a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501 © (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
- Has an independent Board of Directors with a regular meeting schedule.
- Has up-to-date, current bylaws by which the agency operates.
- Has been operational for at least 12 months and can provide financials.
- Files a current IRS form 990 or can document the circumstances under which the 990 filing is waived and cannot be a 990N, e-Postcard.
- Offers programming to improve health, education, and financial stability for individuals living in Escambia and/or Santa Rosa Counties in Florida
Within the UWWF application process, the agency will:
- Complete the Letter of Intent form for a specific program.
- Explain how the request connects to at least one United Way of West Florida’s impact areas of health, education, and financial stability and Strategic Plan priorities.
- Request funding amount of no less than $15,000 and no more than $50,000. Funding CANNOT be used for capital expenditures or event planning (i.e., fundraising, food)
The Process:
- Complete the application which includes items for the agency fiscal accountability forms and Letter of Intent form. Deadline is December 4, 2023, 5:00 PM CST
- One Letter of Intent may be submitted per agency.
- The program must address at least one of UWWF’s impact areas.
- The minimum grant request is $15,000 and maxim the um is $50,000 for July 2024 to June 2025 distribution period.
- Agencies who are vetted and LOI is approved will be invited to complete the grant application in January 2024.
- Applications are located on e-Cimpact, a grant database platform. Link can be found at the top of the uwwf.org web page listed as "Agency Login".
