Matthew is the Economic Empowerment Manager at United Way of West Florida. He oversees the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and helps support financial empowerment efforts across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Much of his work focuses on ensuring our local community can access trusted services and resources that can help them become more financially secure.
His background includes both nonprofit and public service work. Before joining United Way, Matthew served as Director of Services at Keep Pensacola Beautiful, where he worked closely with community programs and volunteers. His experience also includes working as an Air Traffic Controller in the U.S. Navy and with the Federal Aviation Administration, roles grounded in public service and responsibility.
Matthew cares deeply about financial empowerment and helping people build a more secure future. Outside of work, he enjoys learning about financial markets, behavioral economics, and financial history, and values lifelong learning and making an impact in the community.
