What Is VITA?
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to qualifying individuals and families. All tax returns are prepared by IRS-certified volunteers who are trained to help you navigate the tax process with confidence and care.
VITA at United Way of West Florida
United Way of West Florida is proud to offer the VITA program to our local community as part of our commitment to improving financial stability for individuals and families across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. This program is funded by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and delivered locally by IRS-trained volunteers, making high-quality tax assistance accessible to those who need it most.
Through VITA, United Way of West Florida helps remove financial barriers by providing this service completely free of charge. For many households, accurate tax filing and access to eligible credits can make a meaningful difference—helping families keep more of what they earn and build greater financial security.
This program reflects United Way of West Florida’s broader mission to support pathways to financial security. By offering free, reliable tax preparation in a welcoming environment, we aim to reduce stress, increase confidence, and ensure community members receive the full benefits they are entitled to under the tax code.
