Education

Young boy learning at computer.

United Way of West Florida fights for the education of every person in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

To improve education outcomes in our community, we work to leverage resources by strategically investing in quality programs through our Community Investment Process; building and participating in partnerships and coalitions; and advocating for policies that help students and learners of all ages.

Partner Agencies that receive Community Investment grant funding for education programs are required to submit regular reports identifying how funds are used to support programmatic efforts to improve education outcomes, such as:

  • 100% of children (K-3) served who maintain satisfactory or improve school attendance
  • 100% of youth served who gain post-secondary employment, further education, or credentials
  • 78% of elementary/middle/high school youth served who maintain satisfactory or improve school attendance
  • 81% of youth served who graduate high school on time
