Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

RSVP, For Volunteers 55 and Better!

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), is a free, federal program to support volunteers 55 and better. Locally, RSVP is sponsored by United Way of West Florida and is focused on Uniting our community and leveraging resources to improve lives.

United Way of West Florida partners with nonprofits in Escambia County to help provide volunteer opportunities that match your skills, experience, and lifestyle with the needs of our community. Whether you choose to give one hour a week or ten, short-term projects or ongoing, you WILL make a difference in our community.

With RSVP, the choice is yours! You choose the volunteer opportunity addressing one of the focus areas where you are willing to donate your time, you choose the amount of time you want to give, and you choose whether you want to draw on your skills or develop new ones. In short, with the guidance of United Way, you find the opportunity that's right for you.

LEAD WITH EXPERIENCE THROUGH RSVP.

  • Enhance current skills or learn new skills
  • Social interaction and the opportunity to meet new people

  • Monthly social and educational events
  • Annual Recognition as an AmeriCorps Service member

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

Through a personalized, one-on-one interview, we work with individuals to determine their skills and interests and the right opportunity. Once a match is found, volunteers begin to serve for as many hours as their schedule allows.

Volunteers: We offer a wide range of engaging volunteer assignments in Escambia County. Get started by exploring some of our current opportunities by attending an orientation session.

Agencies: RSVP volunteers bring a lifetime of experience. Find out how RSVP can help you plan, train, and recruit for successful volunteer placements that strengthen your organization and help you achieve your mission.
