Statement On Racism And Social Inequality

United Way of West Florida believes that every person is entitled to be treated with dignity and respect – this includes equal treatment and access to justice.

The recent events involving violence and threats against African Americans illuminate the severity of systemic racism and underlying prejudice in our country. We denounce these incidents as they are the antithesis of everything that United Way stands for.

‘Live United’ is not just a tagline or a brand asset. It is a belief, an ethos, that drives our work each and every day.

United Way of West Florida is committed to working together to create a community bountiful in opportunity, equity, and respect for every single person.

United Way of West Florida is committed to ensuring that every person in our community has access to health, education, and financial stability.

Together, we must all do our part, to make our communities the places that we need them to be.
